“Shouldn’t the church find more faithful ways of measuring its success? Mercy instead of membership? Forgiveness instead of financial contributions? Baptisms lived in the world instead of baptisms recorded in a book? Justice instead of just stats?”  Hello!!!

Denominational work is a mouth full of ashes.

Read this and make sure to read the comments.  Not surprising!  He knows what he’s talking about!  I wonder if denominations, in general, will ever just lay down the political posturing, care-less about what other people think, stop vying for position, keep the Bible as the instruction manual, and go love and reach people regardless of race, style, ethnic background, or religion.  Most unchurched people don’t care about what we care about in our daily denominational discourses and meetings.  They don’t even know Christ exists, much less religious machines.  We’re out-of-touch in most places.  It sure is exciting to be around those leaders and churches that are in-touch!   I’ve been in some amazing churches lately…you should be too!  Life is short!
